I had a regular ob check-up yesterday and since the doctor was running way behind schedule the ultrasound tech said she's do a quick scan. The baby looked great, measuring one day ahead and with a heartrate of 174.
After my appointment I got my progesterone and lovenox levels checked. Well, the lovenox came back as none detected (not good) so I had to go back in today to have the level re-checked closer to the time I actually do the injection. My progesterone level came back at 16.62, which although technically is within my labs normal range, I feel is too low for being almost 10 weeks when supposedly the placenta should be taking over. Comments?
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
Re: Surprise ultrasound and progesterone levels
i am glad that the u/s showed everything looking good!
i don't know anything about lovenox, but my progesterone was also low when i first got my bfp, so they gave me progesterone to take. it went up and has been fine ever since- i think they were happy to see it over 20, which is a little higher than where yours is. maybe their lab was just screwed up?
Glad everything looked good on the ultrasound!
I have nothing to share on the progesterone, I just don't know. What did your OB think?
As for the lovenox, are you taking 2 doses/day? Are you seeing a hematologist? I wasn't on lovenox until the end and it was 2 doses/day, but it does leave your body quickly. Maybe I'm not explaining that right. Hmmmm.
