Nesting question

Are you washing all the new bouncy seat covers and that kind of thing?  I am for all the used gear I have but don't know what to do with the new stuff.  I would presume wash, right?  Just like new clothes...

Re: Nesting question

  • I basically have washed everything in my posession.

  • Yes, I did last time and will again as much of it has been in the attic.
  • I'm glad you asked - I hadn't even thought of that. I guess it makes sense - we wash clothes and blankets to get rid of the chemicals and whatnot. Makes sense to do the same thing for any other fabrics LO is going to be in contact with...

I've washed mine. I didn't know if I needed to or not, but I figured it was best to be safe!

  • I prefer to wash everything before we use it.  I've been to China and seen the inside of factories.  Some are ok, others are questionable.  My DH works in pest control and has participated in fumigations of entire shipping containers because of infestations.

My theory is that supply chains are EXTREMELY long and not always traceable. So, better safe than sorry.

  • Yep-I even wash our new stuffed animals.  I figure it's all going to be his mouth at some point.  I want those little germies off!
