Well I don't have a positive story! haha..I had mine swept last week and lost my mp the following day, followed by constant cramps but nothing happened. Had it done again yesterday but have felt nothing but hardcore cramps. I didn't even bleed after it, but then again my dr. told me I have a "cervix of steel" haha so maybe I'm not the best canidate..I was 2cm 50% last week and this week...it has worked for friends of mine..Good Luck!!
I also had it done yesterday and nothing to speak of so far. I had been losing bits and pieces of my mp over the last week or so so that continued yesterday with a little blood and still this morning. I've also been having cramping on and off for weeks so that's nothing new either. I am overdue but have only been 1 cm dilated for weeks so maybe I have a "cervix of steel" too, lol!
Either way, induction's tomorrow night so hoping something miraculous happens before then!
I've heard positive stories too so I think it depends how "ready" your body is when they do it?
I never ever post, just read the boards. But I am so curious about this too because I am really getting down on myself.
I have high blood pressure so the doctors want to induce next week. Ok great, whatever. They swept my membranes yesterday which resulted in a lot of bright red blood, and a lost bloody mucus plug. Spotting and cramping the rest of the day, and then nothing this morning. I tried nipple stimulation with the breast pump for 30 minutes this morning, and still no contractions. I am feeling so anxious because I don't want to be chemicaly induced. Also this baby has never been very active, but he has even slowed down more. I have a hand held doppler that i listen to his heart with since he doesn't move around a whole lot. And his heart is beating strong. My doctor said I am 3 cm, 100% effaced, and she can feel the head. I haven't felt any painful or even uncomfortable contractions. I barely feel BH contractions.... My husband is beside himself too. I guess we are both impatient. I just want to know if I am getting anywhere.
I'm 39w 3 days at 3cm & 50% effaced and am going to have my membranes swept at my Monday appointment. Otherwise they'll monitor me twice a week for the next two weeks. I figure it's worth a shot, even though it's not proven to work every time (as evident by the pp). Good luck, everyone!

I am just frustrated.
Vent over.
