Success after IF

mother's day plans?

What is everyone doing for Mother's Day? My husband has to work until 2:15, my parents are busy and my sister is out of town, so it's just me and baby for most of the day. I'm thinking about going to a coffee shop in the morning and maybe a nice walk. I want to do something fun together as a family once DH gets done with work, but I'm not sure what to do.

Last year on Mother's day, I was in the hospital with a brand new baby vowing to eat something fantastic next year and not hospital food.

Re: mother's day plans?

  • My DH works from 2pm until after we are in bed, so if we do anything it will be in the morning. We are too far from our families to do anything with them, so, like you, it will be just me and the kids most of the day. We may go to the park.

  • We are going out to brunch with my parents and siblings, and then will probably do something as a family in the afternoon. I guess it depends on the weather.

My husband is working all day, and my mom lives in another state, so I think I might travel down to see my MIL and take her to lunch as her sons didn't take the day off and she did (miscommunication).

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

My DH is working all day til around 6.   I'll bet my mom will call and ask us (me and the kids) to head over to her house.  My sister will probably be there too with her kids.    At least that's what I think I'll be doing.   Otherwise it will be just like any other Sunday.

  • DH is going to his Mom's for the weekend (6 hrs away) to help her move so its just me and the LO.  I have this fear of going into early labor and being stuck here alone!

  • Enjoy the day with you LO!

We will have breakfast with my family and then church.  The rest of the day?  Some yard work?  It's my last day of my "maternity leave" so nothing stressful, that's for sure!

  • We are having brunch at my parent's house then no plans for the afternoon. It's a really hectic month for us so a quiet afternoon will be wonderful.

  • Ugh.  Saturday we are going to my SIL's college graduation -- it is going to be an all-day event (about 2 hours away), so that should be fun.  Sunday we are taking my mom to brunch, then going to a BBQ at my in-laws.  No naps for the girls  either day means a super fun weekend for me, lol!

I live overseas right now so this Sunday is not Mother's Day here (here, they celebrate in Oct so I get 2 Mother's Days, sort of!).  Anyway, we have friends that just moved here as well with their kids so we're planning to do brunch or afternoon tea with them at a fancy hotel in town (much more tolerable since there won't be crowds) and then my friend and I are going to the spa while the dads take the kids for the afternoon.  I'm looking forward to it.
