Are you still wearing your rings?

I'm still wearing mine. I've been very lucky and haven't had swollen hands. Today I was thinking what if I wake up one of these days with swollen hands and my rings are stuck!

I'm planning on taking them off when I go to the hospital but maybe I should stop sooner.

  • Yesterday I woke up and my fingers were swollen, but they went down in size quickly.  Today they are a bit as well, but I can still get my rings on and off.  I just hate not having them on.

  • Yes and no....it's already in the 90's here so some days I am swollen and can't wear them and other days I am fine. I always take them off at night though.
  • Yes, but I take them off at night.  I do that when I'm not pregnant, too.

  • I feel quite fortunate that I am able to wear mine - they don't really feel any tighter than they do normally. Like a PP said, I hate not wearing them, so I will keep them on as long as possible.

  • I haven't been able to wear mince since about week 18 (now my rings were tight to begin with, so once the swelling goes down I am having the resized). With that said I have gone through several rings and I am down to my last one. If I swell anymore I will have to go ringless for the rest of my pregnancy! No

Hoping I can hold out and that the swelling doesn't get any worse!

Yay for you ladies who can still wear them!

  • I haven't worn mine in a couple months. The were slightly tight to begin with and I'm worried I'll need them to be cut off with all the swelling :(
  • Yes, I still have mine on.

  • As of about 2 weeks ago, mine are now on a chain around my neck.

Most days I could probably still get away with wearing them on my finger, but after an incident during which a LOT of soap was needed to pry them off, I decided not to chance it again for the duration.

  • I'm still wearing mine... my plan is to not take them off at all unless asked... my wedding wing is a whole half size bigger than what I need and I'm pretty sure only my engagment ring keeps it on my finger... sooo... I think I'll be good the whole time... I don't really think my fingers will swell up to much tho because my mom is about 60 pounds overweight my grandmother is about 40 pounds over weight and we all still have the same ring size... so in that matter... I'm not to worried about it...
  • My fingers started swelling 2 weeks ago and I had to take mine off.  They aren't really swollen, but definitely enough that I couldn't keep my rings on.  My watch and medical bracelet still fit... for now.

  • I took mine off out of paranoia, but I'm sure that I could still wear em no problem. I miss them, though :(

  • Yes, I still have mine on. I take them off when I shower or do the cleaning so if I ever have trouble getting them off/on, I'll just leave them off. I have really tiny wrists and hands to start with though.

  • So far I've avoided swelling, however I've become allergic to my ring ever since I got pregnant, so I can't wear it all the time :(

  • Yes because I can't get them off.  The last time I took them off was when I made shortbread for Christmas.  My fingers are pretty swollen, but my sister assures me that the swelling goes down pretty quickly after birth, so I'm not worried.

  • I was wearing mine until Sunday, I have gained a total of 36lbs so I thought I could hold out but darn hand swelling made me take them off!  Now that I am even more swollen I am very relieved I took them off when I did, but I wanted to wear them for delivery and after.  My advice would be to take them off as soon as you feel like they are starting to get tight, I have had to have rings cut off at the ER before and not only is it not fun, but they may mangle them getting them off.  :)

  • i took mine off :(  i was getting nervous.  they weren't tight on my fingers, but when I tried to get them off over the knuckle, they would sometimes get a little stuck, i just figure it's better to be safe than sorry
  • Nope!  First the engagement ring around week 27, then my wedding band around week 30.  Major bummer...now my feet are starting to swell.  Even my flip flops leave a mark on my feet because they are getting tight.  One pregnancy symptom that I loathe!  Oh, well not too much longer and the swelling goes down fast after delivery.
  • I have taken mine off.  I had some swelling at the end of the 2nd trimester.  I didn't want to risk it.  I can't even get them on my hand now. so i am very happy I took them off.
  • I stopped wearing them a little over a month ago. I've had some swelling and the thought of them being stuck scares me. I keep meaning to put them on a chain so I can wear them around my neck...

  • Sort of... my fingers have gotten very swollen, but my wedding ring still fits alright because it's so narrow. I'm wearing my engagement ring on my pinky finger whenever I can, and I take it off when I'm worried about losing it (cleaning the house, doing dishes, gardening, etc).

  • I only wear my wedding ring bc both rings together was too much. And I take it off every night too just in case.

  • I took mine off ages ago, I really want to wear them still but some days they get so stuck I got very worried about having to have them cut off. I know its silly but I do feel a bit weird without them especially when I'm out without my husband

  • Yep. I was able to wear them the whole time w/ dd so I'm hoping to do the same this time.

  • I still wear mine though I take them off before I go to bed just in case... I also take them off if I'm outside and it's getting hot because that's when my joints swell and I don't want them to get stuck

It's not in the 90's here, but on a humid day I have to take them off.

I will probably retire them in the next week or so.  I'd just rather not be cut out of them.

  • I took them off for good about 2 weeks ago.  There were a few days before that, depending on the heat/humidity where I couldn't wear them, but when they got stuck in church, I decided I was done unitl the baby got here.  I don't want to have to have them cut off, and at this point, I can't get them on if I tried (which of course I did, just to make sure).

My rings are on. My fingers do swell every now and then, but usually I can feel it coming on in time to take off my rings. My toes and feet on the other hand are a completely different story.

  • Yes, no major swelling yet.

  • Unfortunately I had to take my engagement ring off about 2/3 months ago and my wedding band had to go a few weeks ago.

Makes me so sad.... I love my rings.

  • My hands and face are the only places on me that aren't swollen. I'll wear my rings until I can't, but I'm hoping that doesn't happen.

  • I stopped wearing mine a while back, maybe around 24 weeks? I have been tempted to buy a fake ring, because I feel like I get judged a lot. Like this weekend at the grocery store, I was buying a few cases of beer and some wine and this woman kept side-eyeing me. She would look between my hand, my belly, and my cart and shake her head!

  • Not so much for the last 2 weeks.  If I do I just wear the e ring not the wedding band.  They get very tight after an hour or so.  I am glad that they still fit I could not get them on after 30 weeks with DD#1.

  • Any and all swelling has been confined to my legs, so I'm still sporting my ring too!

  • Im not really swollen at all, but I kinda maybe Angel might have gained a little bit of weight after the wedding before I got pregnant.  And instead of resizing the rings (we knew we were going to try soon) we decided to get a simple band to hold me over.
  • I have to take them off at night.  Some days they are harder to get off then others.
