Re: Yoga ball/labor ball

  • Doing squats is supposed to help baby drop as well!  I did them while brushing my teeth.  :)

I will definatly have to try this one

  • I have been bouncing around on my yoga ball for the last two weeks :). When, at my 38 week appointment, my OB told me baby was still really high up, I came home and sat on that thing all week. No change at my 39 week appointment :(. I've been sitting on it this past week too and my 40 week appointment is this afternoon so we'll see if it did anything! Good luck to you!

I sit on my ball at home while I eat and watch TV.  My LO's at a -1 station and im 3 cm dialated/80% effaced.  (Up from a -2 station and 2 cm dialated last week)

  • I bought one the other day specifically for L&D and then for use after, if it doesn't get stained....  This may be a dumb a question but should I blow it up before we go to the hospital or just wait until we get there?  I was thinking that its kinda big to take in the car

  • Yep, yoga ball and birth ball are one in the same. Just make sure to keep it inflated enough so it's comfortable. Mine has helped so much, especially when I lay over it and do pelvic lifts. It helped my lower back pain so much.

Have you asked if your birthing center has balls there for you to use? I know mine does.

I have a yoga ball and I have been sitting on it throughout my day at work. No idea if its doing anything for me, but its a nice option to have instead of my chair.
