*Cute lunch check-in*

I tried to break out of our sandwich rut a little bit this week - not that DD cares. The girl likes a sandwich!

Mickey! Cinnamon raisin sandwich with Biscoff spread (sort of like cinnamon gingerbread) with kiwi, blueberries, golden tomatoes, strawberries, Babybel cheese and a few peanut butter pretzels. There was a lot of bread waste from the Mickey cutouts, so I put those in a silicone container.

My mom makes pottery so we have a lot of it, and I raided DD's play kitchen for a pottery-themed lunch. Throw in a glass pitcher and cup, and you've got a very breakable lunch! Leftover fettuccine alfredo with peas, a whole apple, blueberries and dried mangoes. While most kids might not like this theme, my DD thought it was fabulous!

I've been hooked on the song "Song in My Heart" by Gomez lately, so I got out all of our hearts and music note supplies, and DD listened to the song as she ate. Cheese sandwich, strawberry, golden tomatoes, celery, peanut butter pretzels and blueberries. Oh, and this is packed in another one of our new Sistema containers from Old Navy. It's divided into two compartments and seals nicely, and my DD can open it by herself. FYI, the silicone divider pieces (called "baran") are not just cute but also useful - they keep wet items from touching dry ones, like the wet fruit that I'm too lazy to dry off and the sandwich/pretzels. Muffin cups, folded up wax paper, dry lettuce or a piece of string cheese in the package can serve the same purpose.

Veggie corndogs make up the main item in this rather unappetizing lunch - those golden tomatoes just don't photograph well! While this isn't a very cute lunch, it is neatly organized, which I assure you my Montessori-loving child appreciates! ; )

Flower theme - so easy! This is our new Boon plate with the detachable side bowls. Mini sandwiches (cut with a Funbites cutter), spoon for the dip, chips, two huge strawberries, golden tomatoes disguised as cherries, blueberries and a few cashews.

PIP your cute lunches here! Have a great week!

  • Yeah, I noticed that we have some of the same things. I thought of you this week because Goodbyns are on sale at their site and I know you were thinking of one for your lo.

  • I decided against them, but I sure did debate about it!
