proud of EC now!

All of my friends with toddlers are making me all happy. They keep getting so excited about their LO's using the potty for the first time, and then frustrated at how hard potty training is. My LO peed in her potty for the first time at only a few months old and it makes me so proud of her!

  • So you're happy that your friends are going through struggles?

    Congrats on your coincidence!

  • I love ECing! Everyone is shocked that DD has been using the potty since she was 2 weeks old but it's just natural to us. I've actually got a couple friends who started doing it too after hearing me talk about it!

Lol, I guess it kind of reads that way doesn't it? No, I'm just happy because it's an example of the trouble we're saving ourselves by doing it this way. The friends I'm talking about hadn't heard of EC, so they never got to give it a shot. And until they started saying something about it, I had kind of forgotten that peeing in the potty is something parents are usually proud of. My pride is just kind of belated, since it was so easy to get her to go, it didn't feel like some gigantic achievement.

Not sure what the coincidence thing is all about... We also ECd but I found it easier when she was "too young" and I was just viewed as weird (if I shared at all which wasn't with most people). But once she was diaper-free at 18 months and it was obvious, people started to notice and even though I didn't say a word, sometimes they said ugly things. One woman at the park asked "Is she already out od diapers? How old is she?" I think she was about 20 months at the time. She went on and asked how because she was struggling to PT her almost 3 year old. I said, "We just started putting her on the potty as an infant and she has bee diaper free a few months." She said, "Oh I don't believe in that. It doesn't work." Ok. I'm so glad most kids her age are trained now!
It doesn't make any sense to tell someone that something doesn't work when for them it did.

Well put. This sounds much like what I'm going through. I forget others don't potty their babies.
