Success after IF

If you liked Outlander, what did you read next? Or any other book suggestions?

I have read all of the Lord John books and I don't know what to read next.

50 Shades of is catching a lot of buzz right now, but I'm not sure if I would like it.  Some of the reviews basically call it smut, which to an extent is fine, but I like character driven fiction.

Any book suggestions?  I hate TV right now and I hate not having a book to read even more!

I was considering Steve Jobs' biography, but I am not quite sure I want to delve into that right now...

  • The link in my siggy will take you to my favorite books list, the ones that I like to recommend to others.  It is a pretty diverse list, I think!

I know a lot of women on the book club board recommend The Bronze Horseman after Outlander.  It is another historical fiction series with a love story at the heart of it.  I started it and liked it, but it was looooong and was due back at the library.  I'm going to start it again this summer.

     Hope that helps!

Let's see, I have enjoyed the Phillipa Gregory historical fictions a lot. Also I enjoyed the dark fever series (karen Marie Moning), Hunger Games, I just read Divergent (Roth) and it was good, the series that starts with Dead Witch Walking, and Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniel series. Anyway- I have gone mostly over to urban fiction/fantasy, but I loved Outlander too :)

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!

I agree that if you're looking for something similar (meaning historical fiction) The Bronze Horseman is a good place to look!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

If you like Outlander try "Into the Wilderness" by Sara Donati. It even vaguely references Claire and Jamie and I think Young Ian (not by name but you'll catch it). There are a bunch of sequels to it but I've only read the second book "Dawn on a Distant Shore".

Thanks for the rec!  I'm off to add this to my goodreads list.
