Short torso + big/long baby= no lightening??

I feel like my LO has dropped - lots of pressure, uncomfortable to walk, constant urge to pee with little output...BUT I don't "see" that she's dropped. I still have wicked heartburn, can't bend over, can't catch my breath.

I do have a pretty short torso and my LO is long legged and measuring ahead of my due date.I have been doing everything I know of to help her drop more (yoga ball, squats, walking, fun time, etc) but I'm starting to feel like its just not possible. Could it be that she has dropped but due to our physiology she won't ever leave my ribs?

I am 5'1" with a short torso, and over the past week or so I have felt that my LO has definitely dropped. I have way more pressure on my bladder and I can feel my belly hanging lower. But, I can still feel her and see her right in my ribs. I think she's out of room. It's like even though she has dropped, she's still taking up the top part of my torso too. So what you're saying makes sense to me!

  • I'm 5'10", but I have a short torso...on par with my daughter, who's 5'3". I can tell he's dropped. My stomach is noticeably lower. However, when he stretches, I still feel him in my ribs and of I'm sitting a certain way, it's like he hasn't dropped at all.
  • im 5'2 and I feel like my baby is defiantly out of room. I can feel him in my ribs and I can feel him pushing around really low. Guess thats just what we get for being short.

I have been thinking/wondering the same thing.  I'm 5'1" and LO is predicted to be over 8 lbs as of last week.  I can feel TONS of pressure way down low, but also still get heartbturn at night and feel likeI still have a baby in my ribs.  It sounds like it's par for the course for us shorter girls.
