Poll: Prom time!
A lot of the kids that I work with are going to prom and it got me strolling down memory lane... So...
1. What did you wear? A black/white dress with polka dots, tea length
2. What did he wear? Black tux, no one wore white back then. Peach cummerbund/bow tie
3. Who did you go with? One of my best friends, Dave. We're still friends.
4. Memorable part of the night? He picked me up in his dad's Jaguar and then we met friends to go in a limo. Honestly, I don't remember too many details of the dance. It wasn't "cool" to stay long. We all left to go to parties.
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? Sure, I'd pick a prettier dress and a better hairstyle, but I would keep the same date.
6. Any other details you want to share? I wish I remembered them!

1. What did you wear? A very sparkley maroon ball gown.
2. What did he wear? Black tux with a maroon vest/tie.
3. Who did you go with? My now husband.
4. Memorable part of the night? Nothing really. It was kind of lame. I will say his back seat was covered in said sparkles by the end of the night.
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? I would have gotten a spray tan. I was white as a ghost and that was not a good look in a dark dress.
6. Any other details you want to share? We went downtown (Chicago) for the day after prom. It was fun to explore the city without parents!
1. What did you wear? a lilac purple jessica mcclintock ballgown type dress. it laced up the back with a bodice-type top and a full skirt.
2. What did he wear? a tux
3. Who did you go with? a kind of random guy. he asked me to my prom? i didn't like him too much.
4. Memorable part of the night? i remember i didn't want to dance with him. my senior prom kind of sucked.
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? oh yes! i would have rathered go alone than with that guy.
6. Any other details you want to share? like i said, it was lame. i was really thrilled to go on to college!

Junior Year- Pale pink dress with a deep V in the back- it was a too the floor ball gown style skirt- I loved that dress!
Senior Year- Pale Purple full length ball gown style skirt- top was strapless with a corset top.
2. What did he wear? Black tux with a black and white patterned vest and bow tie (he refused to wear pink) , and senior year black tux with a purple and black patterend vest and bow tie.
3. Who did you go with? My high school boyfrient to both- we are still best of friends to this day.
4. Memorable part of the night? Senior year we decided we didn't want the limo (we had that for junior year) we decided to meet everyone at the restaurant- he drove his mom's two seater BMW convertible- he decided to run it through the car wash before dinner (because it rained for like 2 seconds) and the top leaked while in the car wash and got my dress all wet- then I was in a Mcdonalds drying my dress with the hand dryer in the bathroom- we laughed so hard! It was too funny for me to be mad at him. Overall we just laughed the entire weekend- it was great!
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? Not a thing- I wish I could do it all again

I basically cut and pasted Becca's response - it was pretty much the same exact story for me!
1. What did you wear? black and white jessica mcclintock knee length dress with little cap sleeves - very early 90's.
2. What did he wear? a tux
3. Who did you go with? a random guy that asked me to go to my prom. i didn't like him too much.
4. Memorable part of the night? i remember i didn't want to dance with him. I was a little mean to him - I basically hung out with my girl friends dancing and only hung out with him at the beginning of the dance, during slow dances and at the end. I still feel badly about it!
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? I would probably be nicer to the guy - it was only one night. I would also have put more effort into my getting ready. That day I had played in the state tournament for our tennis team, and didn't get home until an hour before my date was to pick me up. I jumped in the shower, scrunched up my hair into frizzy curls, and that was about it!
6. Any other details you want to share? Not only did I not really like my date, but I lost in the tennis tournament earlier in the day - needless to say I was not in a great mood! I did have fun with my friends, but as Becca said l was really thrilled to go on to college!

2. What did he wear? Black tux, no one wore white back then. green vest and bow tie
3. Who did you go with? My now husband
4. Memorable part of the night? riding in the limo
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? I would probably go have my hair done, I did it myself, wore it half up and half down curly.
6. Any other details you want to share? it was a fun evening....we went camping the next day with some friends.

1. What did you wear? Floor length lilac dress with beading on the top (bust area only) and the back closed in a couple places leaving 3 kind of diamond shape openings.
2. What did he wear? Black tux, with black bow tie and I don't remember if he wore a vest orcummerbund.
3. Who did you go with? My boyfriend at the time, Terry
4. Memorable part of the night? My mom had to tell my boyfriend to open the car door. The location was pretty cool. It was fun but not overly exciting.
5. Would you want to go back and have a redo?? If it was just for that one night, sure. I liked my hair and dress (of course I would change it right now though). I would have let loose a little more but over all it was good.
6. Any other details you want to share? I did not have the chance to get into much trouble, I had a plane to catch at 7am the next morning for my cousins graduation.

1. What did you wear?
I was lucky girl and went all 4 years of high school.
Freshman year - Teal slim fitting gown with lace in the back, sweetheart neck
Sophmore year - Light blue Aline gown that came up high on the neck with beads by the neck
Jr year - Navy blue aline dress with sparkles just on the top half.
Sr. Year - Lilac super sparkly dress with beads and rhinestones all over, open back.
2. What he wear? All wore classic black tuxes, except my sr year he wore black tux with white vest and white bowtie
3. Who you go with? Freshman year - Keith, an ex boyfriend who asked me even after we'd broken up. Soph, jr, and sr. year, my boyfriend Brian who is now my husband!
4. Most memorable? Freshman - first prom, double dated with another couple who ended up being my husband and we danced! nothing special the other 3 proms.
5. What you want to go back and redo? Of course! I love to dress up!
6. Any other details? It was always in our gym on a Friday and we would leave school early to get ready. We always drove to the beach after prom to stay the weekend. It was a good time. And before we would usually meet and have a pre-party at someones house.
