EC-educate me

When I first heard about EC I was really uninformed and just thought it was weird but now that I've heard so many positive results and that it really isn't difficult or too far out of your normal routine, I'd really like to be more educated and give it a shot with my daughter.

So educate me! Links?  Book recommendations?

Re: EC-educate me

  • I finally got curious enough and read The Diaper Free Baby. I liked the tone, and she was very encouraging to do what you can do and not freak out about not actually being "diaper free".

It's still not something we'll do full time (after all, he's going to daycare starting wednesday), but I can now see the wisdom in putting him on the potty once or twice a day and spending some time now getting him in touch with his bodily functions in an effort to make potty training less difficult down the road.

(ETA: my baby will be 1 tomorrow... my ticker is confused.)

  • Token gives an accurate review of the book. I believe there are links in the faq. We have ECd since about 7 weeks. Even my DCP does it. It is a very happy story. He is one, and often has a dry dipe when I change him. I have only done it part time, too.

  • I also recommend the book Diaper Free Baby.
We started with DD at 2 weeks. We had gone a couple months with no poopy diapers but she's gotten a little sneaky with them lately lol. We don't really catch the pee much, I put her on her potty every diaper change, before bath, and she'll usually pee.
