Argh - baby shower invites

My MIL and DH's aunt forgot to put where we are registered on the invites. That means a ton of duplicates, random things we didn't register for, gifts from random stores... hopefully with gift receipts! Argh, I'm so annoyed because I spent HOURS on our registries. She didn't even know where we are registered "Toys R Us"? No, Babies R Us and Target. I'm so thankful she is throwing us a shower, I'm just really annoyed at this oversight. I feel registries exist for a reason - so we get things we feel we need/want, to prevent duplicates, and so there are easy returns. Not running all over to 10 different stores because you got 10 of the same item. Vent over.

    Hopefully a lot of the guests are savvy enough to find them on their own, or ask somebody!  But of course, plenty of people just buy whatever they want, registries be dammmed!

    What if I emailed MIL and suggested that they tell people where we are registered when they RSVP? But most people will leave a voicemail so I don't know if that would help much anyways. But I want to email her with where we are registered because she didn't even know. And I want her to know that I spent hours on the registry, registering for specific items, and want to avoid duplicates.... or would that be rude?

    I'm sorry she forgot the info on the invites!  It will probably be OK...if I got an invite with no registry info on it, I'd discreetly ask around to see where you registered or I would use Google to find it.  There are entire websites dedicated to helping people find registries, so the internet is a good resource!

    ehhh NBD, many people will think to look on the websites to see if you made registries at either store.  And if they don't think to, they'll probably ask the host when they RSVP.  Not the end of the world.

    It's a little annoying but anybody who is wanting to utilize a registry is likely going to assume that you are registered at either Target or BRU so you're probably fine.

    There is nothing your MIL can do now besides telling guests when they RSVP if she speaks to them. I'd make sure that she and your aunt know where you registered in case someone asks. I would not mention the time and thought you put into the registries because it would accomplish nothing besides making her feel bad and that's really not very gracious of you as the honoree, even if it is going to be inconvenient for you.

    FWIW, I registered and people used it but some stuff didn't come off when they scanned the registry. I got 3 Bumbos, lol.

    I just had my shower yesterday & only got 2 main items off my registry, 5-6 little things (and info was included!!). A little annoyed as I spent time on it for a reason. Oh well. One would think people would ask or look at the stores anyways but sometimes not...hope you get everything you want!

    Agreed with everyone above.  Anyone who is going to shop off a registry will be savvy enough to ask or look for it on their own.  You will be stuck with a bunch of stuff you didn't register for regardless of if the info was included or not.
