I have meant to do this a few days ago but just haven't found the time. My LO, Logan arrived via RCS on 5/3/12 at 9:11am. He was 8lbs 2.3oz and 18 3/4 inches long. Him and myself are doing great. The c-section went really well and the recovery has been easy compared to my first.
The pediatrician did detect a heart murmur on Logan and we will follow up with a cardiologist the end of May. It is small and we are praying it will heal on it's own and not cause complications for him later in life.
The biggest challenge so far is helping my DD adjust to this change. She is having a hard time because of the attention the new baby is getting. She is excited but at the same time resentful. If anyone has tips on how to deal with this let me know!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Re: Baby Logan is here!
Congrats and I hope the heart murmur clears up
Your daughter should be old enough to help out a little bit. Grabbing things for you, helping mix a bottle of formula if you're using formula. Make up tasks for her to do, even if you don't need the help. It builds confidence when they have a responsibility. And of course, don't forget to spend time with her when you can. Maybe put in a movie and make some popcorn. Something you can passively do so you can change a diaper/feed the baby if you need to. Good luck!
Big congrats!
