What are these little movements?

It seems like at least once a day LO has these little movements. It's not kicks. DH thinks it's her practicing breathing. Which I don't think it is, & if it was then these are some really quick breaths! Does anyone else get these? It's not anything I'm worried about but I just can't figure it out!

Re: What are these little movements?

  • If you are talking about the spazy like movements - I've been feeling them, too.  I know that when babies are born they can have slight seizure like movements because their bodies and motor skills are immature  so that's what I'm thinking they are!

  • It's not hiccups? That is the only thing I feel. I've heard people talk about the practice breathing, but I've yet to feel it!

  • I've had the seizure like thing a few times too.  No clue what it is.

  • DD used to have the little spasms while I was pregnant with her, and my doctor told me it was actually her kicking my muscle and causing it to spasm. I haven't felt it with the other two since then.

  • Do you mean it almost feels like LO is panting?  I have felt that a few times and it's definitely different from the hiccups because I feel those too.  I haven't worried about it because I haven't had any other problems and she always moves right after.  Practice breathing makes sense...
  • Thanks everyone! Yeah they're not hiccups or seizure movements, they're too slow & steady to be seizure movements. I just didn't think I'd know when LO was doing the whole practice breathing thing.
