So I took the day off Friday for my birthday and for my consultation visit with the new RE. On the plus side she seemed to be knowledgeable and up to date on what I knew about IF. She suggested we try iui with Femara for a few cycles and if that didn't work then we would move on to a combo Femara and injectables with iui.
I feel fairly comfortable and confident she knows what she is doing. She even said that DH sperm count was good for iui. So hoping that is the case and all we need is to give his "guys" that extra head start to get things working.
I was on day 3, and we could have started a cycle with iui already this month. However, I decided that I would like to wait a month and explain what I am doing to all my daycare parents, as I will have to most likely go in for the iui during the day. I was prepared for this possibility and have some options on what I am planning to do. But want to be honest about it with my daycare parents, so they know what is going on.
I am pretty open about sharing my IF, but this time I am uncomfortable. I mean it would be like telling your clients, or the parents of your students about your personal life. I wouldn't normally do that, but I don't really have a choice. I was really hoping they might make an exception and let us go early or late, but I should have known better. They have lives too.
Because I am having to find a replacement on iui days for an hour or so, I am really really hoping this doesn't take too many cycles. Ideally, we would be able to get KU in June or July as my DH has the summer off, he works as a counselor in a school. Otherwise, I have a friend who is willing to come and help on the iui days. She is a certified teacher and currently a stay-at-home mom. She is also due with baby #2 in August, so she probably wouldn't be able to help during her last month of pregnancy, nor after the baby is born.
I know this is long, but thanks for reading if you made it all the way through.
Any thoughts? Would you as a parent be okay with your daycare provider leaving your child with another responsible adult for an hour or so? I have really great parents, but am worried about their reactions...and am unsure how to broach this subject.

A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013.

Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies.
Wishing, hoping, waiting.

Hi April.
I think if the parents trust you and you are upfront with them about needing to go to these appointments, it shouldn't be a problem. My sister has an at home daycare and has needed people to fill in for an hour or two at times. She has always just made sure the parents were aware and she only uses people she trusts (her husband, or her MIL). Just tell them in advance so that they can meet the person (if they so desire) OR if they don't like the arrangement they can always make other plans for your appointment days.
Good Luck! Hopefully you'll only need to do it once!
Wow, that sure is a lot to juggle. I think it is great that you have a well-qualified friend who can sub for you and I hope everything works out. I'm sure that is very stressful without all of the stress of IF treatment.
I hope you have success very quickly.

18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!
