just met a monster

wow when they asked me if I wanted to wait for my doctor, I should have said yes. I just meet the monster of the practice. I assume shes the nurse practioner or something. She also had the mean nurse of the practice in tote with her. I some reason always get lucky and don't have to see her. I guess there a team of negativity.

So I messed up and asked a question about me wanting a med free birth. Well she said IF I can do it, but if I seem like im in pain then there is this drug called stadol. Im like hello did you not hear med free? I said wont that effect the baby? And then she went from normal lady to MONSTER she started lecturing me about they would never give me something to hurt the baby. and rawr rawr rawr more lecturing, then said of coarse everything does have side effects. I felt like a child getting yelled at by my elementary school principal all over again. I realize I do look young I get carded for sharpies at Wal-mart, but jeeze I had a 4 year old in tote how young could I be?

Oh and then she checked me declared I was only a 2 and that could very well be pregnant forever (or at least thats the way she made it sound)

So im gonna be pregnant forever (yay) and now have learned my lesson, in my many many more weeks of being pregnant I WILL be waiting for my doctor.

Yikes.  I guess it's better that you discovered this now and not while actually in labor.  Good luck avoiding her from now on!

Ugh, how annoying!  Hopefully there's no chance of her being your doctor at delivery?

And, sorry, I don't mean to be snarky, but the expression is "in tow" not "in tote"

  • See, this is a situation where my mouth would get me in trouble. If I felt I was being lectured on something I felt strongly about, I would have stopped her in the middle of it and not so politely requested that she not speak to me like a child, and that I had indeed done my research.

  • This is one reason why I'm happy that at my hospital (which is where all my appointments are), whenever you make an appointment, they print off your date & time, etc. & stick it on a card & it says which doctor you will be seeing. Is there a way to request a certain doctor at your appointments?

They do that at my clinic too, but he was running late because he was delivering a baby. Next time I will defiantly wait for him or one of the other doctors. I am fine with all the doctors shes only a nurse practitioner that steps in when there all busy.
