Weight loss and fashion

Ok, my weight loss is not happening as fast as I would like. Trying to find clothes to wear is a task that can make me crazy. How is your weight loss goals coming along? What is working?

Where on earth can you find clothes? What are you wearing? I still have this deflated basket ball and my pants slip underneath and slide down. Tops? Everything makes me look frumpy and/or fat. I want to feel like a beautiful woman again! Everyone says to be patient, well it has almost been four months and it's not like I'm sitting around on my butt all the time.

Re: Weight loss and fashion

  • As of today (I am being an AW I know) I have lost 50 pounds and all of my baby weight (in not even 4 months!!).  I am doing Weight Watchers, which has been a great help, and running on my treadmill everyday.  I don't make excuses for the exercising part, I know that if I am going to lose the weight I have to do it. Plus, I usually feel great after, and it's my time to just focus on me.  My PP jeans are big now and I am wearing all of my normal clothes.  If you can't run, try doing a good workout video, like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.  It's only 20 mintues and a great workout.  Or walk with LO or even baby wear to help add some weight. Watch what you're eating too, and I'm sure you will have success.  GL!

  • I run 5 mi a day and lift weights and am still 2 sized from PP.  So, I find that different types of shirts are flattering now.....but it will depend on your figure I'm a short waisted hourglass which was hard to fit to begin with.....tailored but flowy works for me...lots of target (Jrs section-their misses are to big for me on top...pants are another story)

Have you tried a low carb diet?  I had GD so had to cut out the carbs, and as a result, didn't put much baby weight on and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight shortly after delivery.  My tummy is still a flabby mess, but the number on the scale isn't upsetting.

I'm nursing, and refuse to pull up my shirt and expose my belly in public.  So for tops I've been living in the Merona wrap tshirts from Target.  They are runched at the side so provide some shape while being roomy enough to hide my looseness.  I'm able to wear my pre-pregnancy bottoms, but I am not ashamed to admit that I'm currently rocking my maternity jeans skirt from the GAP - elastic waist band and all.

I've lost the baby weight and a little more (not quite at my desired weight) and I also have the "deflated basketball" look. I think all of the weight I gained was in my belly and boobs.

I've been trying to watch what I eat- not as many sweets, really decreased my soda intake, and we eat at home whenever we can instead of going out. I feel like I have NO time to exercise, so I get pick up the baby and move whenever we can (see post on toddler/baby music- we like to dance).

As far as my clothes go, I feel frumpy in most of my tops. I was lucky and all of my PP jeans fit throughout my pregnancy with a rubber band around the button or with my belly band. So I'm wearing the same jeans, and the ones that are a little more snug or my deflated tummy hangs over I still wear the belly band to keep everything tucked in nicely.

I'm just really depressed about my boobs. I feel like they sag so low now! I never wore push up bras before because they kind of held up on their own, plus they're huge and if I pushed them up any more I look like a stripper. Now I think I need the push up. :(

Maybe check out some inexpensive clothing stores while you're still "transitioning" in weight. I got some new clothes from Old Navy and Forever 21 (super cheap and flimsy, but they'll do for now) and hopefully I'll be able to fit into cuter clothes by the end of summer.
