How are you arranging your kids? I am putting the infant carseat in today and am trying to strategize the best way possible to have all 3 kids in there. I think I am going to put our 4 year old in the way back in the middle, she is still in a convertible and will be until she is 6, and unfortunately I still have to buckle her in... Then, I was going to put the baby behind the passenger seat so I can just pop him in or out curbside while having our 24 month old scramble in across to climb in his seat behind mine. Does anyone have a better suggestion? We only have captain seats in the second row of our Sienna.
Re: XP: Mom's with 3+ kids, how did you put your carseats in your minivan?
Can you take out one captain seat? Then you could put the baby behind you, the toddler and the bigger one in the back and you can reach them all by kneeling in the empty space.
I wouldn't put the 4 year old in the middle in the back because the seatbelts there are likely a little funny (at least in vans I've seen) and it may end up lining up wrong when in a booster. I'd go to one side or the other.
This is what we did, it works wonders. Of course all of my seats are taken, but when we had a 4th I did three across the back and the baby behind me.
DD1 is 4 and she's on the passenger side in the very back, I still have to buckle her in, she's in a graco nautilus. DD2 is rearfacing behind the driver seat in the middle row. For DS we took out the middle seat in the middle row and moved over the passenger side captains chair so he is in the middle next to DD2. It worked well, when you put the 2 captains chairs together there is just enough space between them to keep DD2 from messing with him while we're driving.
