I felt very comfortable with the doctor and all the staff at the facility. My background: my OB did not recommend this referral; after my last m/c my OB did basic testing and told me my repeated losses were "bad luck."
The doctor spent 45 minutes with me going over my history, reviewing my test results that were completed and reviewing my cycle history (I brought in an outline of my cycles for the last 12 months). She said while my OB did some good tests, they were run at the wrong times (not on specific cycle days) therefore she is going to rerun some of the tests. She said just looking at my cycle outline, she suspects my progesterone is low. I had it tested once at 9dpo and she said it was low compared to what she would like to see although she said they test it closer to 6-7dpo. She then did an u/s and said I had O'd recently (I had +OPK on Friday). She did say she saw "free fluid" (not sure exactly what that meant-it was present on my last u/s right before m/c as well).
Next steps: blood work on Friday (should be 6dpo then) to test a bunch of things (the check list says CD21 bloodwork) including progesterone. Then blood work on CD 3 (which will hopefully be in about one week) and then a HSG (I think that's the abreviation - something about injecting saline into the uterus to check for any problems). Oh we are also doing kerotyping on both me and DH just to rule out anything genetic that maybe causing the losses.
I finally felt like someone listed to me! I've met with 2 different OBs previously to discuss my concerns regarding my cycles. My LP is typically 5-7 days before spotting and 7-9 days until AF shows again. Both OBs dismissed me saying my progesterone was normal. Now, I find out it wasn't tested on the right day and once was in fact low.
I'm still nervous about what the results will show but I am trying to take it one step at a time. My insurance only covers IF testing and absolutely no treatments including medications. So based on what the results show we will decide how far we are willing to go to try to have #3. I know we wont try IUI or IVF just because it's not in our budget.

Re: Back from 1st RE appt...
I'm glad that you feel like you are getting somewhere. Sometimes an OB gets things wrong just because they don't know all the specifics that are needed for correct IF treatment or diagnosis.
An HSG is where they inject dye into your uterus to see if your tubes are clear.
We had our general practitioner do a SA and he said it looked normal, but my recollection of the number he gave us did not sound normal. When we had an OB who specializes in IF redo the SA, it came back low, twice. So it really can make a difference what doctor you have do the tests.
TTC #2 since 6/2010

A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013.
DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair.
Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies.
Wishing, hoping, waiting.
Thank you for clarifying. She specifically said a test where they inject saline into the uterus so I guess it's not an HSG. I have all the paperwork with the test names in the car so I will have to look it up later.

I am so glad you got some answers and felt heard!
Just out of curiosity, and you may have mentioned before on previous posts, but did you have any issues with either of your 2 other LOs?
I'm glad everything went well today, and it sounds like you are heading in a positive direction.
I did not have an HSG either- I had an "STP"- Saline Tubal Profusion, which is when they inject saline instead of dye through the uterus/tubes and watch it spill through the dildo cam. My RE actually uses this in place of HSG, although will do an HSG if he feels he needs a second opinion/test. I took 800 mg of ibuprofen beforehand and wore a panty liner for any extra dripping, but other than that, it wasn't bad at all; I know some people have heavy cramping and some spotting with the HSG.
Good luck sweetie! I hope you get further answers with these tests.

Nope...no problems whatsoever with the my 2 sons. We conceived both times within 3 months of TTC; no spotting, no complications, nothing. My cycles were like clock work prior to TTC#3 (not sure if it changed after DS#2 birth or after my losses started). Previously, my LP was 11-13 days with no spotting (a couple hours before AF is all). Now, my LP is shortened drastically and I spot for at least 1-2 days before AF arrives (sometimes as many as 3 days). LP is still much shorter than it was before.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
