Thanks! LO and DH may have slept thru, but I was still up every few hours to make sure he was still breathing. Fingers crossed that he does it again.

Thanks!  I do put him down awake.  I put a binky in his mouth and lay him down.  He usually gives one little cry (like he is saying Oh! Not this again!) and then sets to sucking.  The arms come up over the eyes and within a few minutes he is usually asleep.

Yay! Enjoy it while it lasts (may it last longer then DD's STTN -- evidently all that stuff about FF babies sleeping more is a horrible, horrible myth).

    Congrats to your LO!

If it happens two nights in a row I'll be thrilled!  I'm not expecting much.  Right now I'm treating it as a fluke.

When did your DD stop STTN?  I ask because about a month ago I wanted to start moving LO out of our bed.  But after reading about all the developmental leaps and growth spurts leading up to the 4 month mark I decided to hold off until after he had made the leap.  I figured if I was going to be up every 2 hours nursing him there was no point in moving him out of our bed.  It has been a rough few weeks with the pain of cutting a tooth layered upon the fussiness of the leap, but we seem to be coming out the other side of it now.

  • Yay! My DD usually sleeps through the night and is breastfed, so don't let that get you nervous. She has hit her 3 month growth spurt so she woke me up at 3:30 :(  And yes, the engorgement stinks! I hate waking up in pain, and then feeding DD first (I have to bottle feed breast milk) then I can pump. Burping her is like torture and I always spring a leak! If I'm lucky DH hasn't left for work and can burp her while I pump.

She started STTN at about 11 weeks -- I remember it because it was right as I returned to work and I thanked the heavens. She started sleeping shorter and shorter spurts a few weeks later -- just shy of 4 months. Right now, at 4 months and change, she still occaisionally goes from 8-6 but she usually wakes up around midnight for a feeding, sometimes again at 4 and for the day between 5 and 6. She is definitely having a growth spurt (she want from 5-6 ounces a feeding to 8) and I think she may be teething. But not all babies do. My friend's son has been sleeping from 8-7 since he was 12 weeks and he's now 9 months. Good luck!

8! Holy crap!  I wouldn't be able to keep up with that kind of demand.  I rarely pump so I usually have no idea how much he is getting.  But I had to pump off the other boob this morning and got 4.5 ounces, which I thought was an impressive amount.  8!  That's amazing.

  • Haha, you sound like me!I keep checking on my LO to make sure she's still breathing!

I just noticed, our LO's are the exact same age!

  • Congrats!!!!!!

Know what you mean about rocks. DD has been doing 7-9 hours recently and they are still quite hard when I wake up. I'm ok with that, because it means I have a good supply. :)
