Ok Ladies: I'm wondering if I'm doing this right?
First and foremost: DS has pretty severe acid reflux, so keep that in mind.
At our 4 month checkup the Pedi wanted us to start trying rice cereal ( 1 tbsp) twice per day. He said then after a few days to up it to 2 tbsp. I wasn't comfortable with that, so I started him a week later on the cereal. He loved his cereal from first bite, and never spit any out! So 1.5 weeks later I started him on 2 tbsp.
I'm confused as to how to time it. Should I leave space between bottles and just give him cereal, or feed him cereal prior to 1 of his bottles? Or is it just up to him? I'm afraid of over-feeding him with his acid reflux, but I've been doing it the following way for several days, and it hasn't been too much of an issue. Just wondering what any of you have done? And please no flames for starting him on solids before 6 months. TIA!!! ![]()

With all 3 of my kids, I did the cereal in between bottles.
I think trying to sit him at the table at 10pm and do cereal is too late!
Looking at your schedule, I would do some cereal about an hour after his first bottle (so around 7am) and then I would do it about 45 mins- an hour after either the 2p or 6p bottle.
Like the previous poster said.....if possible, do it at "meal" times, when you are sitting down.
I know you might want to do it yourself, but think about having daycare try it one time a day because the more you expose him to it, the more he will get used to it!

CC has bottles at 6:30,9:30,12,30,3:30,6:30 & 9:30.
She gets her first cereal meal (1 tbsp ccereal+ 1oz formula) at 11am and the second one at 2.
Just started veggies today and will replace the second cereal meal with a pur?e.
DS is a little older (6 mo) but his schedule looks like this:
6:30-7:30am - wake up
7-8am - bottle (between 5-7 oz)
9-10am - nap
10:30-11am - solids
11-11:30am - bottle (5-7 oz)
12:30-1:30pm - nap
2-2:30pm - solids
2:30pm - bottle (about 5 oz)
3:30-4:30pm - nap
4:30-5pm - solids
6:15pm - bottle (7-8 oz)
7pm - bed
I would say try and give him that last solids feeding closer to a real mealtime. Also I was told not to measure food as it's food, not medicine, and being too rigid can kind of create an unhealthy relationship to eating. You have to do what works for you though, there's no "right" way. GL!
