Aversion to one side?

The last 2 days my LO has had an aversion once or twice a day to my right side.  This side produces a little less-about 2-4 oz when I pump rather than 2.5-4.5 like the left side.  Tonight she refused to nurse on that side no matter what I tried so I pumped it, but I'm afraid it will start to lose more and more supply.  Does anyone know why this happens and what to do about it?  I'm going to call my LC in the morning but hope to try to get her to nurse on that side before tomorrow.

  • Some people have luck with a chiro treatment - it can be because of pain in the position to nurse on that side.

Try different holds. DS liked to be laying on his right side when nursing, so it was football hold on the right and cradle on the left for a few months to make life easy.

If it came on suddenly, have your LO checked for an ear infection as well. Sometimes they don't like laying on the side with the infected ear.
