Car insurance

Just got our insurance renewal in the mail for the next six months. Our premium went down from $818 every 6 months to $645 every 6 months simply because we moved. We only moved 2 miles. Isn't that crazy?

  • Oh I understand that!   Was on the flip side though...  We moved from the burbs into the city... An amazing historic neighborhood but the rest of the zip code is..... Um... Not that nice.   Our insurance agent told s we were now tagged as "inner city" and our premiums went up almost 40%!!!

    That is wild!  But yay!

KikiGee, I think that's why ours is so high.  In the last 3 years, I've had a tire slashed (somebody slashed 1-2 tires of every car parked on the street in about a 3 block radius one night), my car stolen (the only one of these I actually filed with insurance), and my car sideswiped just enough to knock the side mirror off.  Cars are broken into all the time around here -- it sucks!  We ADORE our historic neighborhood but it does have its downsides!
