My DD is 2 weeks old and seems to have maybe a milk allergy...or some other allergy or intolerance. Milk products(in larger quantities) make me feel sick, my 4yo DS had eczema and the allergy ring on his bottom once he started eating dairy (and I think he had a milk allergy as a baby that I didn't know about). Now DD is wheezing, has a red ring on her bottom that no ointment clears up, she has mucousy stools that sometimes have flecks of green in them or very small strings of red blood, and can be pretty uncomfortable after eating. I feel awful that she is uncomfortable and doesn't always get a good sleep because of it (but she really sleeps pretty well at night). I am working on eliminating dairy and I am looking into seeing a naturopath to diagnose her actually allergies/intolerances.
What can I do for her in the mean time????
I should mention that I EBF DS, and was hoping to EBF DD but am instead EPing because DD has a jaw issue inhibiting her getting milk from the breast. I would much rather for her to have BM but if formula is truly better for her then I would switch at least until everything clears from my body. It is sad for me now to be stashing milk since I have extra but yet I know I will probably never give it to her since it is "tainted" with whatever allergens.
Re: What can I do while the allergens clear?
