Blood clot size?

I just passed a huge blood clot.  I had passed a big one before, but this one was probably about the size of 1 1/2 golf balls.  Last time it was one golf ball size.  Called my OB and he said as long as I don't have blood running down my leg I'm ok.  What was the largest size clot you passed?  I'm not bleeding anything beyond what I have been all along, should I call?

I was also told that anything up to the size of a golf ball was ok.   I remember someone posting that they were told anything under the size of a lemon was ok.  May want to just call to check with the OBs though...

    I had one that big.
  • I had quite a few that big.  I'd never tell someone to not call if you're concerned.  I think if your bleeding, aside from the clot, hasn't increased and is what you've been experiencing the past few days, you're OK.

I had a single one the size of a small lemon... It felt so weird falling out!  Noting more happened so I never called my ob.

  • mine have been about quarter size.  but i had one morning where i had four or five of them in the toilet and my bleeding had increased.  i went in to be checked (which btw, being checked when you're bleeding and have stiches, sucks) and it was fine.  doc said passing clots like that was fine and mine might have been due to some excessive bowel movement pushing i'd done earlier....loosened up some stuff in the uterus.
