I know I have posted before about movement and flutters but I am starting to get concerned that I am feeling nothing. I don't feel pregnant in the least bit. I had no first trimester symptoms at all! Other than a fat belly and a listen to the HB a few weeks ago, I have nothing to go on. I don't even look pregnant either. I look like I have a gigantic beer belly with multiple roles of fat that is still soft and squishy. I would love to know if this is normal or am I just over reacting. I think my being overweight may have something to do with why I don't feel anything? Everyone rolls their eyes when I express my concerns and I wish someone would take me seriously.
Re: Starting to get concerned
Is this your first? It's very early, if so.
I felt DS at 17.5 weeks (my first) and some people don't until well past 20, even 22ish weeks. The first movements are very few and far between, anyway. You sometimes only feel them once every few days.
GL!
Your weight has nothing to do with when you'll feel internal movements. Your uterus is not lined with fat no matter how big you are. I really don't understand this misconception, but it's very common. 70 or 700 pounds, you'll feel your baby moving within the same timeframe that is average for FTMs if you are a FTM.
I am 5'10 and weighed 313 pre pregnancy. Lost 13 pounds, finally starting to gain some back. This is my first baby and I started feeling little squirms during week 18, and MUCH to my surprise, I was feeling kicks externally in week 22. External movement is what can be affected by your size, so I expected at least another month or so to go by before I would be able to feel movement with my hand.

This is me. I'm only now feeling her daily. At 16 weeks, I felt "flutters" but I'm pretty sure it was just gas - especially after I really started feeling her.

OBs don't expect consistent daily movement until almost 26 weeks. So if you aren't feeling baby move in another 10 weeks, you can start to worry, but even if you had never felt LO at all yet, it wouldn't be a concern.

Lurking.
I am also overweight. However, I popped (noticeable belly) at 17 weeks, and if I recall correctly, that's also about when I felt my first taps. I never felt flutters. Started feeling hiccups probably at about 20 weeks. By 20 or 24 weeks, I was pregnant-looking to strangers.
You're still early for a first pregnancy.
I was about 16W when I felt my first flutters. Now at almost 22W I feel kicks and hiccups (they are constant and all in a row). I am a FTM but I have friends and cousins who have had kids and have told me what I should be feeling. I couldn't tell the difference between the gas bubbles and flutters during week 15 but after talking to my friends/family who have had children recently they gave me a pretty good idea of what I was feeling.
For the first time yesterday my DH felt the baby move. It was awesome. I have been able to tell from the outside for the past week or so but having him feel it was awesome.
