At a family function tonight, my cousin who is a pharmacist started asking all these questions...
"How much did she weigh at birth"
"How much is she now"
"How often and how much does she eat"
"She has 12 diaper changes a day"
I can tell she is trying to say something without saying it so I just asked her what she thought. She said that DD has the syptoms of diabetes. She thinks that she eats too much and pees too much. Even though my rational side knows that neither of those are the case, I felt like I was going to throw up. DD eats about 25-30 oz a day which is almost exactly her weight X 2.5, which i've read is good guide. She does have a lot of diaper changes but her diapers aren't always soggy. She hates having a wet diaper. So instead of sitting in a wet diaper for 2-3 hrs until it fills up, she tinkles and wants to change. Most of the time her diaper doesn't even feel like its wet, the only way I know it is, is beacuse that yellow line will be turning blue in a couple of spots.
I guess I'm writing this as a vent, to get some encouragement, and maybe have some moms tell me that their LO is healty and is just like DD....:( I'm going to be paranoid until her 2 month appt wednesday.
Re: best way to scare a FTM...tell her DD has diabetes
My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy. Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.
I couldn't have said it better!
