I have a 19 month old Daughter Who's name is Shae. We are going to have another girl in August and We can not come up with a girls name. At first we loved Lona, then the more I said it the more I didn't like it. Then right now we are thinking Elsa Mae, but again the more I say it the more I am not liking this one as well. I don't know if I am more worried that it wont sound right with my other daughters name or what if it doesn't fit her. My daughter is a total Shae, what if my other daughters personality won't fit her name. Is that weird? Any suggestions on girl names?
Re: Girl Names
One more thing is when I come up with a name he hates it if he comes up with a name I don't like it. The middle name is def Mae after my grandmother but I am so in love with the names Joa and Zada but he doesn't like them. I hope we figure out a name in the next few months!
If you don't come up with anything else, Elsa is a lovely name. I think it goes just fine with Shae. If you haven't already checked out some online naming resources, you might want to look into nymbler.com, nameberry.com, and babynamewizard.com. They are really helpful.
It stinks when one parent loves a name and the other hates it. I think that's something almost all couples experience. But just like your child will be a product of the two of you, so should the child's name! I know I wouldn't want my husband to agree to a name that he didn't like.
And when it comes to names and personalities, no one knows what a baby's personality will be like when they choose his or her name! You didn't know Shae's personality when you named her, right? I don't think you have anything to worry about. Good luck!
Elsa is pretty but I don't know why I think of Elsie the cow every time I see this name but that's just my association. Lona - is that pronounced "Loan-a" or "Lonna" ?? I think it's Lonna but when I first read it, Loan-a is what I want to say. I like the name but think I would prefer the spelling Lana or Lanna.
I think Shae would go well with either name.
