HELP!!

so i went to the doctors and they told me i tested positive for preclamsia... she took me off work put me on moderate bed rest, and told my husband and i that she was wanting to induce me at 37-39 weeks... depending on how my stress tests come back each week... im 36 weeks today... im really nervous that it will be to soon for her even at 39 weeks,.... and im nervouse about being induced... any thoughts??????? please respond...

Re: HELP!!

  • My daughter was born at 38 weeks (which is considered full term btw) and she was perfectly fine. I wasn't induced so I can't help you there but as far as your baby girl being "ready" you have nothing to worry about. Honestly with the drs these days babies born WAY too soon are still making it, my friend just delivered at 25 weeks, her little girl was just over a lb and she's getting stronger every day. Gl

After 37 weeks, babies are pretty much ready.  Your doctor will help you make the best decision based on your situation, medical needs and the development of the baby.  I think it would be better to be induced if needed than risk complications from Pre-E...

  • what are some complications that could happen.. or do i want to know....

    and how do they induce?

My OB just told me that they are completely comfortable w/ labor happening at 38 weeks.

My friend went into labor at 36 weeks and had zero complications.  GL!

You are pretty much full term at 37 weeks (let the hating begin because not everyone will agree with that) but after years of medical school and all the education your Dr has put some faith in them! They will not induce you if it is better for your baby to stay in for a little longer!

My Doctor said any time after 38 weeks they will not try to stop labor they will let my baby come if she is ready. I am in the same boat waiting to hear about induction. In my case they would start with a "balloon" inside of me, i will sleep with that in over night and then they would start pitocin in the morning! You are a little bit more likely to have a C-Section when being induced...

Good Luck!!!! Don't drive yourself too crazy.. hopefully you trust your Doctor I'm sure they are trying to do the best thing for you and your baby!!

P.S. I'm married to a ER doc, my sister is an OB doc, brother in law is peds Neurology Doc.. so I do try to keep all the faith I can in my family and Doctors in general that they will be doing the right thing!!!

i also have been diagnosed with pre-e. i am only 34 wk 6 days though! if i was already 36 they would be inducing. i am in the hospital on complete bed rest. don't worry about being indued they won't take baby unless baby is ready to come!
