I teach 2nd grade, and next week is my last week home with my sweet baby boy. I am NOT happy at all about having to leave him, and I am beyond stressed about returning to work and dealing with all the upcoming deadlines before school lets out for summer. My question for you is...how much preparation did you do or will do (writing lesson plans, making copies, setting up your room, etc) before going back to school? I've been working on lesson plans today, but that's about all I can even think about doing before stressing out.
Re: Teachers who have returned or will be returning to work soon...
I teach 3rd grade- I don't go back until the 24th and only for 10 half-days before the end of the year. . . so I don't know how much help I will be. . .
But. . my general understanding at my school is that you long-term sub does a week or so of lesson plans for you. Also, remember that you've been gone for s good chunk of time and will likely spend the first week getting to know your kids again and where they are at now academically.
In the same boat. And since I went out early I had a ton of lesson plans ready. And now we're down to the last 3 weeks of school so there isnt much left to plan but when I need to plan I do it during my planning period. Nothin gets done at home, despite my best intentions
