  I teach 3rd grade-  I don't go back until the 24th and only for 10 half-days before the end of the year. . . so I don't know how much help I will be. . .

   But. .  my general understanding at my school is that you long-term sub does a week or so of lesson plans for you.  Also, remember that you've been gone for s good chunk of time and will likely spend the first week getting to know your kids again and where they are at now academically.

  I went back first week in April, but I way overplanned before I left. I think I wrote a good 3 months worth of lesson plans for my 8 weeks of leave. It was so nice when I came back, because I am just now having to start lesson planning again, since I am getting to the end of my plans that I wrote before leaving. I did go in a week before so that I could see where the sub was at and get a feel for what had been going on.

  I'm going back for the last 4 1/2 days of the school year - and I'm only doing that so they can't make me pay for my insurance for not coming back. It's 2 1/2 days with my students and 2 admin days. Thankfully my interim is wonderful and is doing report cards and all end of year things. I'll just have to pack up stuff on my shelves to clear the floor for waxing and turn stuff in. I did 3rd quarter report cards for her before I left so she is doing 4th quarter for me.

  This is my 3rd week back, and the week before I came to school and met with my sub so he could catch me up on how much he got through, so I could just pick up on the Monday I returned. I didn't do much planning before I came back, I just kind of played it by ear the first few days to get my baring backs. The kids are just go excited to have you that they will just go through the flow. I would say, spend the time with your LO And you will be just fine when you head back to work (and summer is almost here)

  I am a school psychologist going back May 31 for insurance reasons mostly .  There will only be about 17 days of school left.  Then we'll be out for summer. I usually work about 10 days in the summer. I just hope my sub is actually doing something and not leaving me with a bunch of assessment cases to finish before the end of the school year. I worked my butt off getting reevals done before I left so all my sub at was new consultation cases and IST, 504 ect..counseling groups.

   In the same boat. And since I went out early I had a ton of lesson plans ready. And now we're down to the last 3 weeks of school so there isnt much left to plan but when I need to plan I do it during my planning period. Nothin gets done at home, despite my best intentions
