Baby Shows & GD Whine Time

Soooo, baby shows. Who cries over them, and who (like me) finds them totally boring and would rather watch "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding", and cry over Days of Our Lives?

 

And another thing, I failed my one hour GD test this past Monday, and they aren't having me go in for a three hour because I live thirty minutes away from the office. So instead, they are having me monitor my glucose levels with a Glucometer. This thing blows! I utterly dislike having to prick my finger four times a day until my next appointment. So, what are you guys eating to keep your levels at a good...er..level? lol

    TLC's A Baby Story is totally traumatizing. I will not watch it anymore and freak myself out.

    30 mins doesn't seem like a great distance?! So basically they're treating it like you DO have GD and are having you monitor your blood sugar and adjust your diet accordingly. That sucks!

    There have been A LOT of posts about GD on the bump and I can't recall anyone not being asked to take the 3hr after failing the 1hr...

    I live almost 30 min away from my OB office...IDK why that should matter, I'd ask again. If you don't have GD then it would be worth ur 30 min drive and ur 3 hours to have the second test done.

    Depending on traffic, it can take up to 30 min to get to my doctor's office.  I'd gladly drive in for a 3 hr to hopefully pass than do blood sugars for the rest of my pregnancy.  Call and go do it.  If it was an hour or more away, then I'd consider not doing it.

    I do have GD and have been watching the carbs.. only a max of 30 at breakfast, 45 for lunch and dinner.. in between snacks 15. Also eat lots of protein. If you don't feel like going through all that, make the appointment- it may be worth your while.

    I love all the pregnancy/ baby shows!! haha I'm a nerd .. Like "Secretly Pregnant" or "16 & Pregnant" or "Birth Stories"  ahh I love all of them haha I even Tivo them sometimes Big Smile
