Legs

Today, I was walking into Target at lunch and all the sudden it felt like my legs did not want to work anymore. When this happened my body got really hot and I broke out into a sweat. I think I was fearing that my legs were really shutting down on me. Anywho, I continued to walk (which felt like super slo-mo), but it was almost like I had to tell my body what to do instead of it reacting on its own like normal.

Has this happened to anyone?? I really don't know if this is something I should call my dr about..

Re: Legs

  • That's something that happens when I'm having a fainting episode (heart condition). Were you light-headed?

  • Did you get dizzy?

I find that if it's around a meal time or if I haven't had enough to eat during the day, I'll get hot and dizzy and feel like my legs are about to give out.  It usually passes after a minute or two, but I try to sit down until it passes, just to be on the safe side.

Make sure you're getting plenty to eat and drink and try to keep a snack in your purse, especially when you're out and about for a few hours.

  • I usually suffer from dizziness, but this time I did not get dizzy, my body just felt super heavy, hot and weak. :/ Super weird.

I called my aunt and she seems to think I need more potassium, which is probably true as I suffered from a charlie horse this morning as well. I ate a banana, hoping that helps. I'll monitor it over the weekend and contact my doc if it continues.

  • I haven't experienced this, but my friend did in her pregnancy. She actually fell a couple of times because her legs just gave out from under her. Unfortunately I don't know what caused it or how she fixed it, but maybe it'll make you feel just a little better to know that she had a healthy full-term baby, so you can get through whatever this is!
