Good News for MOMs under 5 months

The fog has lifted!  It really does get better!  I have to admit that I was skeptical.  Teething was a hard few weeks there but we are back to normal now.

My girls laugh and coo and babble to me.  They look at me like I am the best thing ever...awww...sniff...sniff.  They also put their hands on my face and give open mouth kisses.  I am starting to actually have fun with them (yeah, the whole crying all the time was not so much fun, people).  And I can take them out in public by myself...finally!!

Don't give up hope that you will be able to take a shower or go to the bathroom without them screaming.  It really does get easier.

Hang in there :-)

  • THANK YOU for writing this!   I was JUST thinking this same thing the other day.  My girls are 16 weeks tomorrow and it really is getting better.  Really.  I never  EVER thought it would, bu it is.  So good to hear this and that it just keeps getting better!  :-)
  • (SIGH)

I'm glad these posts exist. I'm unshowered and exhausted drinking my 4th cup of coffee to keep up!

My doc said the boys won't teeth until about 8 months actual age....neat. I just want the vomit/reflux to stop, so maybe it's beefing me up so teething seems easy??? we'll see...what a freakin' ride! :)

  • So true.  Not that I always get a shower but I'm up to every other day now:)

They are so much fun now that they interact with me and themselves.  It's really amazing.

  • I specifically remember at 4 months thinking oh my gosh, I CAN do this! They started getting easier, stopped being colicky and refluxy so much, my poor Jax stopped screaming for 4 hours at a time. Then each month after that got a little easier. Now I am a pro. I know what sooths them, what they like, they don't like, their cues. I can pack them up and take them out on my own like I've been doing it for years. It does get easier. There are different challenges that arise with every age. You can be such a better version of yourself once you are able to sleep through the night without feedings every few hours!
  • I can't wait! THANK YOU for posting this as I sit here getting ready to feed a baby and still unshowered.
  • You have no idea how happy this post makes me!

I cannot wait until it's possible to take them out on my own.  Right now we're finally getting the hang of taking them out together when my husband is home from work on the weekends... but it'd be nice to be able to manage them better on my own!

  • You are SO RIGHT, Sara!  And I'm go glad you are at this point (finally, right?!).  Big Smile  I can remember reading posts from "experienced" MoMs telling us newbies that it would get better around 4 - 5 mo and I thought it was a load o'crap.  But they were SO RIGHT!  And it only gets better from here!  I'm glad you made it to the "bright side" (and that others are soon to follow you!!).
