Pacifier

Does your LO use a pacifier? If so have you noticed any negative side effects while bf like nipple confusion? My LO is 1 month and has been constantly cluster feeding. I'm thinking he is not really hungry just wants to suck so I'm thinking about using a paci.

    We have used a paci since day one...we use the Mam ones so the nipple is different from my nipple & the bottle nipple...maybe we have a smart little guy but he knows the difference. We can offer him the bottle & he will make a nasty face because he is full, then we can offer the paci immediately after & he takes it & closes his eyes:)

    DS1 took a paci very early and had no issues going back and forth to the boob. 
    DS2 loves the paci but after even a day of use starts giving me he!! about latching. It is frankly driving me bananas, but it means we really can't use the paci. I do think this is unusual, though. And I guess according to PP, my kid is too dumb to know the difference Sad.

    We started trying pacis at around a month but she doesn't care for them. Most of the time they just make her cry but occasionally she'll take one at nap time but we tried for 2 weeks before she even started doing that. We've had the most success with mam and soothies.

    He's had a paci since he was about a week old. No nipple confusion whatsoever.

    Wait a couple of days and see if he stops eating so often. He could be needing more milk and if so, your supply will pick up soon if you keep letting him cluster feed.
