Finally! LO has a name

Since DS was named by me, DH was going to name LO.  He said he wouldn't know till he saw her what her name was going to be.  But tonight he came to me and said, "I've been thinking..." LOL! Uh oh...that can never be good lol.  He said he had three requirements (*snort*') for coming up with her name:

  1. She must have one first, middle, and last name.  Meaning no name combos or hyphenated last name. (Okkkaaayyyy)
  2. Her last name had to be his. (Well duh dude! But what I didn't know was that my dad was talking to him about using our last name.  Jeez.)
  3. The first initials of the first and middle name must be the same.  (When naming DS he ended up with two M's.  DH apparently thinks that's cool.)
So he used my baby app to choose a name he liked.  Thus Allyson Alvinna was decided.  Alvinna was my mom's name. I am happy he would honor her that way.

  • I don't know how you gave up that kind of control but I think it's sweet that your DH gave it so much thought and I think he made a lovely choice :)

I like the spelling, I thought I seen all the combinations of Allyson but here is another one. I have 3 friends who are Allyson and they all spell it differently (Allison, Alison and Alyson). I like this one!!

  • Thanks ladies.  DH did a good job.  I was really f-ing nervous.  But i did name DS, so it was only fair.
  • That's awesome and it's great that he honored your mom.  I have to admit to giving your dad the side-eye for trying to talk him into using another last name.

    Congrats on picking a name.

I think it is cool how you both picked a child's name. That is a great story to pass along. Very cute names too, congrats!
