Bikini or one piece?

I'm 17 weeks today and leaving for a beach vacation tomorrow. I've got a few one piece swimsuits in case I'm feeling modest but I'd really like to wear a bikini. Is a two-piece acceptable or not so much?

  • Rock your pregnant body in a bikini if you want to! I'm going to the beach for a glorious week in the beginnning of June and I'm wearing a cute little tankini from Motherhood. If you've got it and the confidence than show it!! :)

Yep, I have been wearing a bikini, or a tankini when I swim laps.  No shame in it!

  • Rock the two piece. Then rock the one piece! Do it all.

  • If you can rock out that bikini, I say go for it!!!  No reason not too!  Have a fun vacation!  :)
  • I will be wearing a giant turtleneck and sweatpants. You do NOT want to see this in a bathing suit. :)

  • If you could pull of a bikini before pregnancy then I say go for it now.  I still wear my bikini in my backyard pool, but probably will wear a 1 piece or a t-shirt if I ever am at a public pool or hotel...but that is more because my behind has expanded along with my belly over the past 5 months.

I'm about to head on a cruise the 19th and I was just thinking about this...  I say rock whatever you're comfortable with. Pregnant women everywhere are now rocking bikinis.

I'm OK with rocking my belly in a 2 piece, but it seems like the cellulite that used to just be on my rear is slowly creeping down the back of my legs due to the pregnancy. (I'm blaming pregnancy no matter what... lol) I guess that would show in any kind of bathing suit... maybe I'll get a cute boyshorts bottom to go with my top.

Go for the bikini! :)  I am going on vacation next week and will also be rocking a bikini, especially as my stretch marks from DD faded--thanks a lot, kid!--and no new ones have popped up.  Many mommies are rocking a bikini now and looking great, so enjoy!

Besides--no one in their right mind would EVER tell you a pregnant woman to cover up or that they didn't look good--or live to talk about it! ;)

  • My last pregnancy I only wore two-pieces. If you are comfortable wearing one, go for it. There is no rule that says once you are pregnant you can't look super cute in a bikini!!

  • Im planning on a 2 piece this summer! I want a white one to get the full egg effect lol  and I want to show off my belly

  • I'm very self conscious and have never worn a bikini while pregnant.  We leave for vacation next week and I WILL rock a bikini this time!  It's on my bucket list!

  • I have pretty bad cellulite and thick thighs and butt but my waist and stomach have always been toned and pretty flat therefore the belly is coming in nicely. I have decided that I will rock a bikini top with a skirted bottom to hide my most obvious flaws. She what you know you can and you will be fine.

  • Hahaha.... well, it's never acceptable for me, trust me.  I say wear it if you're comfortable!

  • ugh. i am so sensitive about this topic today. i used to look good a bikini.... 5 years ago. haha! and have put on weight once i got engaged and then married. happiness hit hard. haha. but anyways... i had been loosing and was only 10 pounds heavier than when my hubby and i got together. we went to mexico last september and i felt fine. my husband told me he thought i looked sexy in a bikini and i didn't even have to ask. HOWEVER! today i was looking at some bikinis and my sister told me i didn't not need to be wearing one of those! not even before i was pregnant. :(   slam. soooo i will be swimming in a diving suit this year. well no. that's too form fitting. i'll swim in the dark. yeah that'll work.

i was all for rocking it. i think pregnant women in a bikini are hot. do it girl!

  • Do it!

I hate the stupid idealism that you have to be fit and tiny to be considered bikini worthy,or even just accepted my society. On top of that, pregnancy is a BEAUTIFUL thing! All that matters is if YOU want to. I personally will be sporting a two piece once I finally get the money to buy one and get my lazy as-s to the beach. Living in florida, you think that would be like every other day lol.

Just make sure you use TONS of sunblock on that belly and all over of course and have lots of fun!

  • I have a maternity tankini that I am ready to get into once it warms up.  I considered a one piece, but really, who am I kidding?  I pee so much that having to get in and out of a one piece that many times would just be depressing.

I say if you're comfortable in a bikini, go for it! Personally, I've always looked way worse in a one piece than a 2 piece, thanks to having a long torso and short, stubby legs. I know pregnancy will not improve this any, so I'm staying far away from one pieces! lol
  • Bikini all the way! I am going to the bahamas in two weeks and will be rocking out in the bikinis for a week.

  • If you feel good in it, go for the bikini!  I was going to on our trip next week, but I tried it on and the top part is now wayyyy too small.  (Bra size has gone up a bunch.)  If it still fit, I'd be wearing mine!  Instead I got a maternity tankini top to wear with my old bottoms.

And ditto pp on not forgetting the sunscreen. :-)

i wore a tankini...I don't know how a one piece fits, but I'd think two pieces would be more comfortable.  Give your bump a sunkiss!

  • i will be on vacation (in two weeks) in the caribbean all while being 7 months prego...I will rock whatever I feel like...whether tankini or two-piece.  If you want to wear it - go for it.  I think being pregnant is the only time you can wear whatever and get away with it!!

dont sweat it - do what you want :)

  • I wore a bikini to the beach today and got a lot of stares.  Oh well..I think I look better in a bikini than I do in a one piece right now.  I'm sure you will look amazing. :)
