This is kind of a spin off of the spinning babies post below. My baby has been OA for weeks. She was way down there at 0 station at 36 weeks, but I guess she decided she wanted to stay in a while longer. This week, it felt like she wasn't as low, and sure enough, she's popped up and rotated to right occiput transverse. I'd like to turn her back, as I read somewhere that left OT babies usually flip back to OA in labor, but right OT babies flip posterior. I am NOT interested in attempting a natural birth with a posterior baby!
My midwife suggested I lay on my left side with my right leg way over my left, almost laying on my belly (which is really uncomfortable, but I tried to do almost the whole night last night, lol). She also suggested I lean on a wall or counter & sway my hips back and forth, and try doing the cat/cow yoga position.
How long should I do the swaying & cat/cow? I forgot to ask her. And is there anything else I can do? Spinning babies says to do stair inversions 5 min/day... That kind of freaks me out, but I really want her to turn...
Re: Baby went transverse at 38 weeks
My chiro gave me this today! Is it readable?
I tried the position you mentioned in my labor to get our OP guy to OA. He moved, but went OT, but that is uncommon. Can you do the Webster technique with a chiro? I suppose it is too late for a version, right? (DS was transverse until we did the version at 37w). What does your MW think about swimming or pool handstands to help? Check out robozo "sifting" videos on You Tube. Can you get your DH or MW to help you do that?
If baby goes OT, OT labor is certainly difficult for some women (me, included), but not for all. Also, there are natural ways to help--if you so desire--counter-pressure and water are beloved!

Thanks, ladies. She is OT right now - not OP. I'm just concerned that she's going to go all the way over to OP, since she's right OT.
My midwife didn't say anything about a version, chiro, or swimming. I'm not sure if it's too late for that at 38 weeks, but I did try the different positioning (I found something called the Miles Circut, that seems to fit my situation) for quite a while last night. I don't think it helped yet.
Thanks for the tips for OT labor. I'm already planning to use the tub/shower and my husband for counter-pressure!
Silly me, you said OT in your post, but I had transverse lie in my head based on your post title, which is where a version would come in. OP, OA, and OT are all on the right track and doable. Tranverse lie really limits things, but you are luckily not in that position.
You should still be able to do Webster with a chiro.
