Buying clothes online

I was super excited to pick up some maternity clothes this week, while we were down visiting relatives. There are no clothing stores anywhere near where I live (2+ hours drive to the nearest town.)

When I went to the two stores I was counting on, I found out they don't carry any maternity clothes at those locations. I went to Walmart and found one tiny rack of clothes, but only one tshirt in my size (shirts are really what I am looking for right now, stupid boobs).

So I am looking at ordering some clothes online. How do you determine what size to get? pre-preg I would wear a med or large depending on the style. Do I still order a med or large?Or do I order large or xl, now that my chest is getting bigger?

Where do you order your mat clothes from online?

My first pregnancy i had a lot of luck with Gap Maternity. I always found their clothes to be the closet thing to clothes i would actually wear if I wasn't pregnant. It is a pain ordering online but I did a few things to help. I ordered A LOT at one time. And if i wasn't sure of the size i ordered both sizes. In the end, it's cheaper. You'll qualify for free shipping, and they have a flat return rate, so you can send a bunch of stuff back that doesn't fit or you don't like for like $6. Also, the reviews on their site are really helpful . . .a lot of people will comment on how stuff fits. As far as sizing, the clothes are fit for pregnancy, so my sizes were pretty true to what i normally wore pre pregnancy . . .but again, i tended to buy a lot of alternate sizes so i could be sure and then just send everything back at once. hope this helps!

  • I've been ordering from www.motherhood.com, which is awesome! Cute clothes and great deals. I would order the same size you normally wear, as these clothes are made with a bit of stretch in them to accommodate growing bellies and boobs.

I am currently in love with this shirt: https://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=904390013&MasterCategory_Id=MC2

Which I have worn three times and gotten so many compliments on!

    Best of luck!

Thanks Ladies! I will have to check out both sites!!!
  • I have not purchased any clothes online because like you I'm concerned about the size.  I have looked online though and love the maternity clothes (and prices) from Target, Walmart, Old Navy, and H&M!!

  • You normally buy the same size you did prepreg. I try to read reviews and you can usually tell if something runs big or small. I like Old Navy, Target and some things at Motherhood. I like Gap, but it's a bit pricey for me. I find stuff at the Gap Outlet.
