My LO seems to be teething. And unlike a normal kid, he appears to be cutting a cuspid first. I can feel the sharp edge of his lower right canine when I run my finger along his gum.
The poor kid is miserable. He wakes up from his naps crying in pain. And a sad kid makes for a frazzled mommy. The only things that seem to help is distraction (for him) and wine (for me).
Re: cutting a cuspid first - what's up with that?
My nephew got his upper canines in first. He looked like a baby vampire, it was awesome! I feel so bad for teething babies though, so not looking forward to it!
My lo has both upper canines comin through. So weird.
We've been using Hylands and baby orajel when its really bad.
I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one with a baby vampire on my hands!
I EBF so I am kind of relieved that it is a tooth on the side that is coming in. I figure he is less likely to bite me with one of those.
Orajel can be dangerous because the numbing agent & is not recommended by the AAP.

We use Hyland's Teething Gel, it does not have a numbing ingredient but still give DS some relief. We also use Tylenol as needed.
