(I didn't really know where else to put this.)
Hello,
My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years now on our own. My AF is normally very regular and I have been using home ovulation tests to pin point my peak fertility. Recently I have lost my medical coverage and I am waiting to be put on my husband's. By problem is... I am 2 weeks late on my period and I have taken 5 hpt that all turned out negative. I have been having nausea, stomach aches, fatigue, occasional strong sense of smell, food aversions and cravings, and frequent urination. I did go to the ER 2 weeks ago for severe nausea, migraine, and slight dehydration. They ended up sending me home with some anti-nausea meds and said I had just had a headache. They did do a urine pregnancy test and it came back negative, but that was 5 days before my missed period. I really want to know if I'm pregnant or not, but I am still waiting on my husband's job to cover me under his insurance so I can't really go into the doctor for a blood test. What do you think? How long did it take everyone to get a positive? When should I test again? Should I just break down and go back to the ER to get them to check of pregnancy specifically?
Re: 2 weeks late and 5 negative hpt... but I think I might be preggo

Do you chart? If not, how do you know you're late? You may not have O'd when you think you did. You may not even have O'd at all. Maybe the fact that you've been sick has delayed your O. If you're getting negative tests, you're most likely not pregnant. I certainly wouldn't go to the ER just to find out if youre pregnant.
Wait another week and take another test. If you go 60 days without seeing AF, then call your doctor.

This. I'm sorry to hear that you're in this state of limbo--that is certainly stressful.
But don't go to the ER. In addition to the fact that it's way, way, way more expensive than just buying a test which will give you the same information--you are not having an emergency. It's inappropriate to go take up resources from people who may be actually having one.
That's not enough charting. Knowing how long your cycles usually are doesn't tell you when AF should be here. And ovulation kits aren't always right because sometimes your body may gear up to O, but you don't actually O. The only way you can confirm that you O'd is if you were taking your temperature and saw a sustained thermal shift. So if you weren't taking your temperature, it's hard to tell if you really did O or not.

Well this morning I took another test and I got a faint line for a positive. I don't know if it really means I'm preggo or not, but I will be going to get a blood test tomorrow.
