A year ago today, we brought our boy home from the hospital for good. It is amazing to think of where we were a year ago to where we are today. To all recent preemie mommas, it gets better and before long you are wondering how those 94 (or however many) days in hospital were any harder than wrestling a toddler. We visited the hospital today and brought goodies for the nurses. They couldn't believe his size. The OB who told me that M's heart had stopped beating was there and was amazed with him. She couldn't believe I made it to 26 weeks pregnant.
Sam is not talking much, but today mimicked me a lot. He's not walking but can pull up on anything and cruise on any and all furniture. He's a punk. He is very curious and touches everything and studies things and faces. Then he smacks them. Tomorrow is what should be his and his twin's due date, so we will be celebrating the fact that we have Sam and remembering Mateus.
Anywho - just sharing that it's been a whole year since we've lived at the NICU. It's surreal.
