Anyone doing WW online while EBF?

I am SO LOST! Never had a prob losing weight before.... I gained 30 lbs during my pregnancy and within 2 weeks PP lost 20, within another 2 weeks lost 5 more and then NOTHING! My body wont lose.... that last 5, plus I am wanting to lose another 15. I admit I need to eat better, and up my exercise. We just moved into our new house and am now finding (kinda) the time I need to focus on this more. I am thinking of doing online WW, what has your experience been, success or not

You may already know this, but when you register for WW Online, they ask if you are a nursing mother and adjust your daily points target accordingly.

I'm not BF, but WW is definitely working for me. Losing that last big is very slow and can be discouraging, but it will come off! HTH

I did WW before getting pregnant and it worked for me, however I've tried it twice as a nursing mother and it gave me WAY too many points to ever lose weight. I changed my settings to the nursing with solids and never ate the bonus points and started to lose again. In the end it was too much work for me to keep up with it so I stopped. I'm thinking of starting to track on sparkpeople instead and see how that goes.
  • I'm doing WW and have lost 7 pounds in the lasy 4 weeks. They do say you shouldn't lose more than 1 pound a week, after the first 3 weeks when BF to maintain quality and quantity of milk, so I'm hoping to see my weight loss slow down. If it doesn't then I'll look at increasing how much I'm eating.

I've been eating my daily points and most of my weekly allowance. I haven't touched my activity points, but really I maybe manage to go for a walk 3 times a week (although day to day I'm running around after a 12 week old, a 2 yr old and looking after a household)

If you look at my ticker, you can see where I've come from (my starting weight was pre DD2 being born so obviously a chunk of it was her) but I think part of the easy weight loss with WW is that I was substantially overweight to begin with.

So I'm happy with WW, and online is the best option for me. Getting to a meeting simply wouldn't work for me, and I did go to WW meetings years ago and found them lame, and hated lining up to be weighed like cattle.

  • I swear by WW. I've been doing it for 8 weeks and am down 7 lbs. So not a lot but I am a slow loser. I'm 5'3 and not BF (DD is 2). My start weight was 188 (eek!) and my current weight is 181. My goal is 135-140. I gained 55 lbs with DD that I'm STILL trying to get off 2 years later. Yikes. But I'm not worried, it WILL come off! I want to be under 150 by DD's 3rd birthday in January. GL ladies!
  • I did this. I signed up when my baby was almost 3 months. I lost 15 lbs in 3 months. For ww to work for me, I had to take off the breast feeding points otherwise I wasn't losing any weight. I just canceled my membership because I wanted to focus on calorie counting and wanted to know my nutrient intake. It's a great program I just got really tired of it. Good luck.

  • I am doing WW online and I BF. DS is 10 months so he eats food too and they gave me a extra 7 points because I BF. I think if you just BF and baby doesn't eat food yet is is 10 extra points. I am having a hard time sticking with it, it is the planning and tracking that is hard for me.  I think if you are good at planning out meals and have the mobile app it helps. I work full time, and have a 8 yr old and 10 month old so the planning ahead part doesn't work for me. I have to get back into it. I have a good friend that has done really well with it. Good luck!
