2nd Trimester

Is turquoise gender neutral?

First, I love turquoise and cyan colors and I've seen a lot of baby gear in these shades. And second, I wanted to not have overly boyish or girlish patterns or colors on carseats, strollers, play yards, etc., so I can use it for future children (hopefully!) who could be boys or girls. And third, I am actually having a boy.

So is turquoise in the fabrics a little too much for a boy or would it be fine for a girl, too? Does it look too boyish (as being shades of blue anyway) to be considered neutral?

Just seeking thoughts. Thanks!

Our nursery will be in Aqua, Yellow, and Grey no matter the sex of the baby.

  • I think it's gender-neutral. I think that's actually the color we will be using for our baby's room. We're team green. :)

Yes, especially if you pick a good accent color, like coral.

  • My son's room has yellow walls and curtains in a dark shade of turquoise, so I obviously think so!

  • Totally. My favorite color combo at the moment is turquoise (actually more of a Robin's Egg Blue) and red, I'll probably use it for boy or girl.

Definitely gender neutral - we're team green and will be using it either way.

  • I think so.  We got all teal and grey for our baby gear with DD just because I felt like it was silly to buy super girly non-clothing items.  I mean, I don't drive a pink car or have a kitchen full of pink appliances and people still manage to realize I'm female.

DD's room/LO#3's nursery is mustard, turquoise, black and white.  I think it's very neutral and modern.
