Stroller Strides Franchise (also posted on May 2012 board)

Any of you mommies own a stroller strides franchise, or know someone who does? I've been thinking about it (there isn't one in my area) and have requested some info from SS, but wanted some first hand info.  I'm wondering what happens after the 4 years you're locked with your territory? Do you have to re-buy it? And I'm sure this varies a lot depending on different factors, but what can I expect as far as ROI, or approx monthly income? If you have any info it would be much appreciated!

    I don't think it's a big money maker.  Depending on where you live, you might need to pay for an indoor location for part of the year or for rainy days. What are you planning on doing if you or your LO is sick?  Cancel class or are you going to pay a second instructor to help you?  You might be able to comp someone's monthly membership if they fill in for you from time to time.  It's your business, so you have to really trust that person to properly represent you (plus they either need to already be a certified fitness instructor or be willing to shell out $400+ for the Stroller Strides instructor course).

    It's not a lot of money for all of the work that you have to do (answering emails, accounting, advertising, misc paperwork).  My friend that does it truly loves exercising and helping other moms.  She's a wonderful instructor and very involved with her business (has a great playgroup and well attended moms' nights out).

    Corporate Stroller Strides is very money grubby and I would not want to work for them.

    I too am interested in purchasing a franchise.  We are moving to a state that currently has no franchises in the entire state.  I would guess thats its not a huge money maker and most people do it because they enjoy it not for money.
