I need a kick in the butt

I am supposed to be trying to lose weight and I keep putting it off.  Ugh?I am starting to hate myself.  Anyone have any weight loss / exercise tips for a fatty like me.

  • Will DH exercise with you?  I find it helps if I have someone to keep me accountable!

On an unrelated note, how did your lap go?  I am afraid I am going to end up there and I am terrified!

  • First I want to say, YOU CAN DO IT!!  The first step is to stop hating yourself, it only makes matters worse! I've been obese my entire life...and its hard!!  It takes LOTS of motivation and determination!  I started my weight loss journey jan 2011.  I started off at 341lbs.  By may 2011 I had lost 50lbs! I was psyched! Then i lost all motivation...and gained back about half of what i'd lost.  So i got started back Jan 2012 and have just now gotten that 50lbs back off!  I drink lots and lots of water!  I decided to join a gym, which got DH doing it with me.  I NEVER imagined i would ever enjoy going to a gym...but i LOVE it!! I TRY to eat healthy as much as i can...but if I deprive myself of the foods i love then i know i will fail.  So i do cheat...a lot more than i should.  I do feel bad about it afterward, but you just have to remember that you havent failed, you just pick right back up where you left off.  I try to stay away from fast food and processed foods.  Lots of protein full foods! I also use an app called "my fitness pal" for iphone.  It's great help because it tells you how many calories you're allowed and you can also log your weight progress...and it can also be done online if you cant get the app.  I'd be glad to be weight loss buddies! It helps to have someone to help you stay accountable!  Good luck and many prayers coming your way!! :)

  • I still can't find time to exercise, but I have been doing a low-glycemic diet and it seems to be working. Obviously, no Cokes, cookies, etc, but I also only eat complex carbs and lots of lean protein and veggies.

I am about 5 lbs away from my wedding weight and about 10 from my ideal weight.

You can do it. Start with the simple things.

Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

It went well.  There was no problems, so I have old eggs.  Hopefully, I wont have to worry about cysts for awhile.  It is such a easy surgery, so try not to worry.  I really even wasn't in a lot of pain after.

  • Thanks for the support!!!  I really want to do this.  I need to lose about 60 pounds.  (I can't believe it is that much).  I am hoping by admitting it I will start the process.  I wish my DH was more on board with changing our eating habits.
  • I joined Weight Watchers mid March and I'm down over 10 lb.  It really has taken my focus of TTC and has made me a happy, healthier, person.  Before WW it just seemed like nothing was going my way. I was gaining weight AND not getting pregnant.  I can't tell you how good it feels to have control over something!

What really motivates me as well is knowing that loosing weight can boost fertility (well, that's what I keep telling myself anyway).  So, I want to start IVF feeling as good and as healthy as I can.

Good luck! It's always been a constant battle for me.  It's hard, but if feels so good when the weight comes off.

  • i need some support too over here the gym machine at home is staring at me and i  constantly say i'll do it tomorrow sigh

lets start easy eat smaller portions , i'm trying t eat less sweets and chips but still can't manage to cut down on soda
