Over the past week A has started standing for long periods of time without holding on. She can also get from sitting to standing without pulling up on something. Last night it seemed like she was thinking about how to move but she just can't figure it out. When your kids got to this point, how long did it take them to figure out how to take steps? I can never tell how close A is to doing something. I thought she was going to start crawling for 3 months until she finally got it. But she learned to pull herself up on furniture in one day.
Re: Mamas with walking babies - a ?
One week. One week from when he started letting go and standing on his own for a few seconds to when he took his first steps. Then over the next two weeks he went from hesitantly taking a couple steps to confidently wandering around the room. It happened SO fast!!
DS took forever to crawl too. It looked like he was *just about* to crawl for weeks and weeks before he managed it.

Actually, the standing unassisted and getting up without pulling up came AFTER the walking, lol.
He would take 2 steps at a time for about 2-3 weeks, but once he got more than 2, it took less than 2 weeks to be a pro walker/stander/get upper.
Ash didn't figure out how to stand without pulling up until weeks after he started walking. I guess they all do it in their own order!
It was probably 2 or 3 weeks from the time he started standing on his own to taking steps.
He actually tried to take steps the firs time he pulled up and it went hilariously wrong...so I think he was afraid to try again for awhile.

I think my kid might hold the record for going the longest from standing to walking. Lol. Audrey started really crawling at 5.5 months. Around the same time she started pulling up to standing. A few weeks later she was standing unassisted and going from sitting to standing without holdin on to anything really easily. She took 2 steps at 8.5 months. She maxed out at 4 the next couple of weeks. Then, during month 9....nothing. Lol. It wasn't until the last 2 weeks or so that she really started walking well.
So for us, I'd say 3 months. Keep in mind she is probably the exception. Lol
