However, I wonder about the flaming that goes along with questions regarding things like lunch meat and manis/pedis. These topics are mentioned in books as things that can be potentially harmful (even if there is a minimal risk) to pregnancy.
you just answered your own question...they're mentioned in books...and i would like you to show me a book that specifically says DONT EAT LUNCH MEAT. people who ask these questions also usually will say "well my dr said its ok in moderation, but my great aunt mildred said no, so i was just wondering what all of you thought"
see how dumb that sounds??
if you can read it in a book, why the EFF would you ask other people...
ps. the majority of us have never been pregnant either
Why ask a bunch a strangers if something is okay to eat?
Especially if you're already doing all your research and read all the books, yet you still want validation from a board full of women who have no medical background and could quiet frankly give a sh*t if you eat a tuna sandwich or a turkey sandwich.
You put yourself in the limelight and in the position to be looked at as silly if you continue to feel that a public board is the correct place to validate your alcohol consumption.
Next time, ask your doctor and he will have a more 1x1 and personal answer for you... and guess what... chances are he wont flame you (to your face at least).

Eh, I don't mind being puppies and rainbows. But who knows, maybe I'll get snarky by 3rd tri.
I think that the board needs some puppy and rainbow people (you), some in the middle people (me), and some super snarky ladies (...). It keeps things interesting!

Blah, blah, blah...same crap, different poster. Just like we say scroll down and find all the lunch meat posts, scroll down and see all the soap boxers "sticking up" for their first tri buddies. Do some research before you get snarked...you know it's going to happen even before you press post!

La, la, la, rainbows and puppy dogs... let's all support one another no matter what question is being asked for the 1millionth time in a day!
Exactly.
