2nd Trimester

17 weeks and still haven't "popped"!

Hi ladies!  I'm 17 weeks and 5 days along with my first little one and I still haven't "popped" yet.  I live away from my family and lots of my friends and they all keep asking me to send pictures.  It stinks to have to inform them that I still just look like I ate too much pizza!  I have a little pooch above my belly button and definitely below, but I am ready for my full blown belly!  Anyone else in the same situation?  I sure hope it comes soon because I am getting jealous seeing all these pictures of cute bellies!

Thanks for listening and have a happy Wednesday! :O)

  • you might not pop until your in your 20+ weeks. Especially since your a FTM.

    Don't worry it will happen.

  • I was 20 weeks before you could even do a double take. I was tiny!

    It's coming- hang in there.

  • with my first, you could not tell I was pregnant until 26 weeks.  I wore my regular pants until about then.

I was small to begin with too.

I think this really varies from person to person, but I think it is perfectly normal.

I still had from 26 until 41 weeks, 5 days to have a nice belly:)

This time, I started showing a little around 18 weeks (now at 22, I think you can tell, and I am wearing mostly maternity stuff, but I still don't look obviously pregnant to the world.  I think how you carry is mostly genetic and then of course lifestyle (food and exerise choices can impact your weight gain, which does impact it as well).

At 17 weeks, your baby is still pretty far down. At 20 weeks, the top of your uterus (fundus) will be at your belly button, so most moms feel like they "pop" between weeks 20 and 24.

With both pregnancies, you could really tell I was pregnant around week 22. That's when I couldn't button my regular pants and the baby bump started sticking out.

  • You will.  Then you'll feel huge.  enjoy the smallness while ya got it.
  • I didn't really pop till 22 weeks, once you do you start to feel a bit huge.... so enjoy it while you can.  I know I'm not huge, but it is so strange to look down and see belly when I'm so used to not having one.

  • I didn't pop until about 2 weeks before I gave birth...I just looked like I had gained 50 pounds (and I had only gained 20). I was looking back at pictures and I finally had what looked like a pregnant belly right before giving birth!!! Haha.
